Asset 1.0 Beta 2 Released

*Update* Beta 2 was missing a critical function, which was quickly fixed and beta 3 was released. The bug list keeps declining and after beta 4 we will probably see the first release candidate. So, what was fixed in beta 3?

  • Improved user interface, especially differences between CCK asset wizard and textarea/TinyMCE asset wizard. This is an important usability improvement which will make many people happy!
  • #227027: Internet Explorer javascript error
  • #230990: Asset Wizard creates 2 rows on first directory creation
  • #235051: Insert Assets link always shows, regardless of permissions
  • #251860: Files don't get deleted on server

This is a very exciting release in that it is the first one after all work done during the Amnesty project was implemented. Lots of people have been testing beta 1 and I was so glad to see how stable that version was. The CivicActions and Amnesty team did a really great job QAing it.

There's one issue I could use some help on from people with TinyMCE or general javascript experience: asset / tinymce link editing. Currently when you click on any type of media asset in TinyMCE, the "add asset" button turns into an "edit asset" button and as expected you can update the selected asset. This currently doesn't work for text links: when you click on them, TinyMCE doesn't recognize the anchor as such and you can only delete the link and add it again. Any help on this ticket is highly appreciated.

Asset & TinyMCE

Hello Wim,
thank you for wonderful module :), I just started getting familiar with it.

I have a problem: Asset Adding/Editing button does not show up in TinyMCE editor at all. I have added apropriate lines to plugin_reg.php, and I selected this plugin in TinyMCE profile. Still they do not appear in editor. I have done everything according to documentation.
I am using Drupal 5.7 and TinyMCE 3.1.0. Do you know what could be the problem? Is it possible that the plugins are not for this version of TinyMCE? (I have found that drupalbreak plugin is also not showing up in editor, only in tinymce profile page). All other plugins work ok, it is like drupal plugins do not work (strange since they are just JS).

Do you know what possibly could be the problem? Any help would be very much appreciated.

documentation & bug report

Hey Oskar,

If you followed the documentation and it still doesn't work, then you might want to try TinyMCE 2. I'm not 100% familiar with what the diferences are between the versions but I know that the plug-in works with TinyMCE 1 and 2. If that still doesn't work, then my advice would be to issue a bug and I'll follow up on it from there. Thanks!

Please use the drupal.org issue queue of the asset project to file support requests at http://drupal.org/project/issues/asset.

TinyMCE 3

Hey Wim,
i issued a bug, I found out that some JS errors were generated (some function not found) and that is probably the reason. Thanx
