I was browsing through some online newspapers when I saw the Wordpress logo flashing by on one of the advertisements. I wondered if Wordpress was starting some pay-for service when I noticed it was actually a commercial for Volvo to launch their new campaign: Volvo Comfort Days.

On October 23 2006 Wordpress released Wordpresss MU. From their release statement: "WordPress MU is an official branch of WordPress that is designed for managing and hosting thousands of blogs instead of just one. It?s the software that powers WordPress.com, for example." Now, with a couple of modules Drupal could be made to act just the same way. Or could it?

I've had the wonderful opportunity to merge and migrate two projects for European Copper Institute into one portal: Leonardo-Energy.org. One was a blog based on Wordpress, the other was an informative site in PHPNuke. My job was to join these two projects into one Drupal set-up, migrating all the content, users and files, adding new features and increasing the userfriendliness.
